Quill is a calm RSS reader for people who would rather choose their own reading than be handed a feed by an algorithm. Subscribe to the sites you actually care about — news outlets, independent blogs, newsletters, research journals, webcomics — and read them in one quiet window. Everything stays on your computer. There is no account to create, nothing is uploaded, and nobody is watching what you read. FOLLOW ANY SITE, NOT JUST FEEDS Paste a website address and Quill finds the feed for you. Most sites still publish one even when they no longer advertise it, so you can follow far more of the web than you might expect. A built-in Discover list of hand-checked, working feeds gives you somewhere to start on day one. READING THAT GETS OUT OF THE WAY A three-pane layout keeps your subscriptions, your article list and the article itself in view at once. Focus mode clears everything but the words. Choose a serif or sans-serif face, set the text size and line spacing, and the reading view stays that way. No ads, no pop-ups, no cookie banners, no autoplaying video. FULL ARTICLES, EVEN FROM SHORT FEEDS Plenty of sites publish only a one-paragraph teaser. Quill can pull in the complete article text so you read the whole piece in place, without being bounced out to a browser. ORGANISE IT YOUR WAY Group subscriptions into folders, each with its own refresh schedule. Save articles to return to later, and mark what you have read. Your library stays arranged the way you left it, on this computer alone. FIND ANYTHING YOU HAVE READ Full-text search covers every article in your library, with recent searches kept close at hand. If you read it in Quill, you can find it again. KEPT UP TO DATE IN THE BACKGROUND Quill refreshes your subscriptions on a schedule you set, per feed or across the board, and can let you know when something new arrives. It only asks a site for what has actually changed, so it stays light on your connection and courteous to the sites you follow.
